This week we examine the scriptural record of Love & marriage. We’ll go from our wedding day to accounts from Moses, Jesus and the Apostle Paul regarding marriage in the literal, figurative, and prophetic senses. We’ll look at the institution of, and administration of marriage in heaven and on earth. We’ll also examine the three stories in Genesis where Abraham and Isaac deny they’re married and see what these might tell us literally and figuratively about marriage and the economy of God. We’ll also look at the difference between a man seeking a wife in godliness with Isaac & and in unbelief with Lamech & Esau.

Paul’s analogies of nations and covenants vs prophecies about people, God’s preferred kind of Jew, the six sibling swaps in the Bible, The arbitrary and capricious vs the righteous view of God, the Potter and the Clay, the raising up of Pharaoh, and the stone laid in Zion, rejected by the builders who has become the head stone of the corner.

Who is Paul referring to when he talks of those who “walk after the Spirit”? Hear about asceticism and the believer as a blubbering child before the Lord. Suffering in sin and in persecution. The immutability of God. The trees of theology versus the forest of the Living God, Plato, Augustine, Calvin and the changes God has gone through.
