Bible Study: The Actual Bible
We begin with a warning about social media, and the object of the algorithm, which appears to have evolved naturally in the world to sew strife for the sake of greed for attention and clicks. We examine the published accusation of a Presbyterian pastor who declares that no one has “the actual Bible.”
So we look at what Jesus called the Bible, what Bible prophets like Daniel had, and what they wrote. In Jn 10:33-36 Jesus Quotes Ps 82:6, “The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?” What did Jesus mean that God called the men to whom his word came “gods?” Listen to our study through I Corinthians for more on little “g” gods.
We take a look at exactly how much Bible Daniel had, and the copies and translations Jesus quoted, and called “scripture”, how the Holy Spirit resides in the words of God published by his ministers (and even “preaches”).
We analyze the statements of faith and mission statements of conservative churches versus those of flaming leftist churches like that of Pastor Jim Rigby. We point out some startling similarities, and look to the Bible for what believers must know and do to conform to what God wants to do in us, (and not what we think he needs us doing to reform this present evil world).
Finally, if you’re not sure we have an “actual bible” in English, we’d ask you to take Pastor Justin Johnson up on his challenge regarding the English Bible and READ IT!
