Weekly Bible Study Romans Part IV

Romans 5:12-7:25

This week we do a review of Romans so far, (the mix of Jewish, gentile and unbelievers addressed in the letter by Paul, the gospel of Christ vs the gospel of God, the Mystery, hid in God, but revealed to Paul, the desperate state of the lost, justification by Christ’s faith, simply by belief, the Romans’ Road, the difference between a work and an act of faith, law vs grace, justification, propitiation and atonement).

The it’s on to the nature of man’s relationship to sin before the law, was given, while he was under the law, and now under grace, Adam as a figure of Christ, (and Paul’s tendency to make figures and analogies in new, and sometimes hard to understand ways), the purpose and inadequacy of the law, Paul’s analogy of sin and the law of marriage, and Christ’s separation of man from both the law and sin.
