Bible Study: I Timothy Part II
This time we begin with a study through the offices of a bishop and a pastor, and then answer whether or not Paul really meant a bishop should never have been divorced.
We’ll go through the definition and qualifications for deacons, which are the same as for a bishop, and are the ideal not only for leadership, and for everyone in the Body of Christ. We’ll discuss what it means to be found blameless and how we must rely on Gods instruction, grace, love and the Holy Spirit to guide us in instances when the ideal for the choice of leadership is not convenient.
We’ll point out a clue that the devil fell early, being called a “novice” by Paul, and how he’s become an expert in the time since then, now setting snares for Christians with bad behavior.
We’ll point out how Paul (and others in the Bible) often use the term “faith” to refer to saving faith, and “the faith” to refer to doctrine, and how “the faith” Paul refers to so often in his epistles is the doctrine of the mystery of Christ, meaning the present dispensational doctrine of faith alone for salvation by grace. We’ll also go into the meaning of “purchasing” a degree by “using” well the office of a deacon.
We’ll discuss why good behavior and good works are important in this age of grace. Finally we’ll give our biblical definition of who, or what is the “pillar and ground of the truth”.
