This week we study through the treatment of business and ministry in the Bible.

What was Joseph doing in the Potiphar’s house when he went in to “do his business?” And what can it teach us about the state of man and the grace of God? We ask how the Holy Spirit teaches and leads us, and find the answer in the Bible.

Why did the translators use a lower case “s” in describing the spirit which is of God in I Cor 2:12? We discover that when Jesus calmed the storm in the gospels he was fulfilling Psalm 107:23, not just doing a miracle to make everybody calm down and feel better. We rebuke the blasphemers who claim God is doing miracles to advance their lives and ministries today.

We also discuss the modern industry of corporate churches and salaried ministers and ask if it’s wise that man make his living preaching the gospel, or to found institutions that outlive their benefactor. We also discuss J.C. O’Hair’s warning of pentecostal fanaticism, and ask why Rush Limbaugh never spoke the gospel on the air.
